Academic Integrity

I'm running as your faculty representative for Sheridan's  Board of Governors.  My goals are to encourage

More emphasis on the people and the enormous wealth of talent teaching at the college as well as
  • More meaningful consultation in management decision making
  • More transparency in management decisions
  • More community involvement particularly by helping the newly unemployed
  • More emphasis on our core business: teaching and learning.
During my 21 years at Sheridan College, I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly here.  I've been the Director of the Sheridan Centre for Internationally Trained Individuals, and the driving force behind the development of much new programing such as the Canadian Journalism for Internationally Trained Writers program and the New Media Journalism program.

I've never been shy about speaking out for what I believe and if elected I promise to do my best to represent the  interests of faculty at the college.

I hope you will join my blog.  All comments regarding our working lives at Sheridan are welcome. If we can build a strong social network on this blog, we can influence how things are done.  We are only limited by our level of engagement and our imagination.

The words that come to mind when I think of Joyce are ideas, enthusiasm, skill and tenacity. She developed the Centre for Internationally Trained Individuals and brought over $3.5 million of government funding to Sheridan College. No small feat.

In my personal experience, working with Joyce I have found her to be a good listener and thoughtful. She will add value to the deliberations at the Board of Governors, Sheridan.

I support her candidacy and wish her success in the upcoming election.

  2. Joyce is a skilled communicator and negotiator. If she is elected, I have no doubt that she will speak with confidence and passion, advocating for the core business of the College - teaching and learning. I believe that she will represent faculty related issues in a professional and respectful manner. Her experience in the classroom, as program coordinator and innovative program developer adds credibility to her candidacy.

  3. Joyce Wayne has been an active and excellent faculty member at Sheridan for more than 20 years.

With great success in the classroom and a superb ambassador for the college, she will be a terrific faculty voice on the board of governors.

Her innovative ideas and perseverance are qualities we need on the board.

With a new VPA and soon, new President, she will be a great addition to the team to champion Sheridan to a new dynamic future.

I put my full support behind Joyce Wayne.
